From the prairies to the parklands, the Northern Boreal to the majestic Rockies, Albertans have a special relationship to the land. Our province is diverse, beautiful and bountiful, giving Albertans high quality of life as well as opportunities for social, recreational, cultural and economic pursuits.

Whether we are experiencing hyper-growth as in the past few years or an economic slow down, oil and gas, forestry and mining, agriculture, wildlife and recreation, housing and infrastructure are all competing for the same land, air, water and habitat.

The Land-use Framework is more than just a land use planputting a regional planning system in place helps prepare our province for both economic upturns and downturns, and balances them with environmental and social considerations.
